Love Me, Kiss Me
Lampworked glass
3.5 H x 20 W x 20 D cm
In this work I have attempted to explore the duality of human emotion using bondage as a metaphor. Love and anger, freedom and entrapment, frustration and satisfaction, and the passive and aggressive are part of our everyday lives. Working with glass brings up many of these issues, as glass can be as fickle and temperamental as human emotions. Many of these paradoxical feelings can emerge naturally just by being involved in the process, as many practitioners will know. It is my intent that the play between fragility and aggression in my work will stimulate the viewer to thoughts in relation to their own experiences.
