Bluesky Door with Vessel

Kiln formed glass, bronze
85 H x 115 W x 20 D cm

All works in this current series are large and use sand bed kiln forming techniques. This body of work is extremely personal and is a visual reference to the decision to withdraw from the architectural glass manufacturing which has so preoccupied my past ten years and return 100% to the studio again.

All the works make passing reference to portal and doors and the implication of something beyond. The trepidation with which I approach this new phase of my work is symbolised by the vertical blades (illusory barriers) between myself and what lies beyond.
