The Delicate Dish Series relates a narrative of place, time and cultural differences.
Every family has its own culinary code, its regional origin and identity. The dish therefore becomes the vehicle for the transmission of family stories and memories, that facilitates communication and meaning across the generations.
Using the dish as my vehicle of expression, I embellish each with symbolic significance associated with the themes of communication and memory.
In a society where technology has such an impact on our lifestyle, these objects have been ritualized. For me they represent the transmission from past to future. For my children's generation, they are everyday commodities or tools.
