On The Run

Painted, fused and blown rolled-up glass
46 H x 27.5 W x 27.5 D cm

By dramatising the human condition, this piece shows the people suspended in action, revealing only causeless happenings. This, as with all my work, is autobiographical to me describing/desiring an occasion as remembered/wanted rather than confessional. The two images on the external wall depict scenes not unlike an action movie, high energy, adventure - living for the moment. Whilst the paintings inside the vessel are of interior settings, at home, centred and building a future. Excluding a narrative detail by freezing the moment in a 'chain' of events, I leave it to the viewer to construct the scenario and thereby personalising the finale.
